The Podcast that Liberates

Inspired by my book, Freedom from Shame: Trauma, Forgiveness, and Healing from Sexual Abuse, the From Trauma to True Love podcast goes beyond talk. Through stories, expert insights, and restorative dialogue, we explore what becomes possible when we refuse to let trauma define us. Join me and step into a courageous conversation that opens the door to happy, healthy, and lasting love.

Why I’m Talking About the Impact of Childhood Trauma

When we free ourselves from the impact early trauma has on our adult lives and relationships, we can be a voice for societal change that ends abuse. I am that voice. I invite you to participate here and then have your own courageous conversations with people in your lives. Let’s liberate ourselves and end abuse together.

How to Engage in having Courageous Conversations

Here are some tips for navigating these difficult discussions:

  1. Listen with an Open Mind: Approach the conversation with a genuine desire to listen and understand the other person’s perspective. Avoid the urge to jump to conclusions or form judgments.
  2. Be Vulnerable: Share your thoughts and feelings honestly, even if they make you feel uncomfortable. Vulnerability can help foster a deeper connection and create space for meaningful dialogue.
  3. Stay Curious: Approach the conversation with a sense of curiosity and a willingness to learn. Ask questions to clarify and deepen your understanding of the other person’s viewpoint.
  4. Practice Empathy: Try to put yourself in the other person’s shoes and see the world from their perspective. Empathy can help bridge the gap between differing viewpoints and foster mutual understanding.
  5. Focus on Common Ground: Look for areas of agreement and common ground, rather than dwelling on differences. Building on shared values and experiences can help create a sense of unity and collaboration.
